Meet Erin Holt

Founder, Director & Lead Instructor of the Funk’tional Nutrition Academy

Erin is an integrative and functional nutritionist. Through her transformative work with 1:1 clients and group functional medicine programs over the past decade, she has built a wildly successful business that helps thousands of people. Erin loves to share her clinical AND entrepreneurial skills with the world, and does so weekly on her show, The Funk’tional Nutrition Podcast (3.5 million downloads to date!).

Erin has spent the last 12 years and upwards of $200K piecing together continuing education in integrative nutrition, functional medicine, alternative health, and business & mindset trainings, which has culminated in creating FNA—the program she wished existed back when she graduated dietetics school! As the lead instructor and curriculum creator of FNA, you’ll learn directly from Erin how to grow a successful nutrition practice and become a confident and fulfilled business owner.

Master Classes from Industry Experts

We’ve brought in some of the best in the biz to teach master classes for our FNA students. Each month, they share their expertise on a relevant topic related to health, enhancing your clinical skill set, or growing your practice.

We also have courses for entrepreneurs available for purchase outside of the FNA curriculum.

I'm about halfway through the program and can confidently say that enrolling in FNA was by far one of the best decisions I've ever made, on both a personal and professional level. Not only have I learned so much about functional medicine (like seriously, SO much), but I've also learned a lot about myself along the way. Participating in this program has helped me to gain the confidence and clarity that I needed to leave a comfortable, yet unfulfilling, 8-5 job and move forward with my dream of opening a functional nutrition private practice. If it weren't for this program, I'm not sure if I ever would have built up the courage to make this leap, no matter how many functional nutrition trainings & certification programs I completed.

— Kara

I have been over the moon with my experience in this program!! I highly recommend FNA to my fellow practitioners looking to expand on their functional nutrition knowledge, education and application; as well as those looking to embark into the realm of private practice. You have everything to gain, and this program will not disappoint. This program was everything I needed and more—it helped me organize the knowledge I already had while further expanding my understanding of the content and enhancing my ability to utilize this knowledge in practice.

— Tania

Who is this training program for?

Registered Dietitians (RDs) and other nutrition professionals who can order labs.

Healthcare practitioners with a background in nutrition who are looking to implement functional nutrition and functional medicine modalities into their practice.

Self-motivated critical thinkers who are looking to move beyond cookie-cutter template protocols (that don’t work) to build a thriving practice by getting people results.

What about other healthcare practitioners?

For your greatest understanding of course content, we recommend that our Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners & Physical Therapists have some nutrition coaching training, certifications, or deep self-study as this is not a nutrition 101 course.

What about health coaches and NTPs?

For your greatest success and outcome, we require that our health coaches also hold at minimum a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Health Sciences and/or 1000 hours in clinical practice before enrolling in FNA.

We are happy to review applications from both health coaches and NTPs (Nutritional Therapy Practitioners) on a case-by-case basis.

We do find that those with clinical hours have a better time with the FNA course curriculum. When in doubt, we suggest that you apply!

Note: Those with a high level of interest but no formal training are not eligible to enroll.

Help! I don’t know if FNA is the right choice for me!

A common question we get is "what's the best choice for me?" The answer to this question is unique to you, and figuring out your best fit boils down to your personal & professional goals.

Functional nutrition has been gaining traction over the past few years, and there is now an abundance of programs and paths to seek out.

We think you’ll be a great fit for FNA if…

You are looking to find real solutions for people in a clinic or private practice setting.

You are looking to dig deeper and go beyond your conventional training to offer real sustainable results.

You are looking to help people solve problems that the medical community couldn't solve for them.

You are looking to create your own unique method.

You’ve gleaned a lot of information, but still feel stuck and have no idea how to put it into practice.

You want to be led by someone who has already done what you’re looking to do.
