I'm about halfway through the program and can confidently say that enrolling in FNA was by far one of the best decisions I've ever made, on both a personal and professional level.

Not only have I learned so much about functional medicine (like seriously, SO much), but I've also learned a lot about myself along the way. Participating in this program has helped me to gain the confidence and clarity that I needed to leave a comfortable, yet unfulfilling, 8-5 job and move forward with my dream of opening a functional nutrition private practice. If it weren't for this program, I'm not sure if I ever would have built up the courage to make this leap, no matter how many functional nutrition trainings & certification programs I completed.

— Kara

I just want to take a hot minute and share how much has already been churned up for me, in me, before the program has even officially started. The podcast with Jessica Flanagan was AAAAHHHHHMAZINGGGGG. So much inward work—thoughts, feelings, beliefs, reality checks and fucking personal work to do. Aside from the leveling up I know I will learn in terms of the functional piece, I already know I’m not going to be the same person and practitioner when this is done. There have been just a couple of times in my life where I feel I spent great money on myself—and damn this is one of them. So thank you in advance and I’m beyond banana bonkers happy that I joined FNA.

— Jocelyn

I just wanted to see if you can pass this on to Erin because I’m 8 months into FNA and in the business modules she talks about how her start was locally and I honestly had kind of ruled that out for my small town. So, with her advice I started talking at the gym and people were so excited and I started a group and went from 0 to 150 local members in hours. I was shocked and overjoyed!!!! So thank you thank you!!!! Hope she knows that she is truly making a difference not in just the FNA students lives but the ones we are able to help from the knowledge and skills she is so graciously providing.

— Leann

I feel more confident with the information I am delivering to my clients because of the depth of information in the curriculum.

I find having more applicable interventions has increased confidence in handling more cases. I also feel better about lab interpretations.

My confidence has increased in my knowledge, my clinical skills, and my ability to market myself!

I have been over the moon with my experience in this program!! I highly recommend FNA to my fellow practitioners looking to expand on their functional nutrition knowledge, education and application; as well as those looking to embark into the realm of private practice. You have everything to gain, and this program will not disappoint. This program was everything I needed and more—it helped me organize the knowledge I already had while further expanding my understanding of the content and enhancing my ability to utilize this knowledge in practice.

— Tania

This program not only gave me the confidence to work with patients on a deeper level but it also gave me the confidence to leave my clinical jobs so that I could focus on my private practice. It's definitely worth the investment.

Hear from an FNA student!

Lori Fish Bard, MS, CNS, LDN shares her experience thus far.

What was it that made you join FNA? What were you specifically looking to do for your own business?

Functional nutrition is a LOT of information. There’s so much critical thinking and putting together the pieces. I wanted to continue my education in a way that was comprehensive and meaningful—and I’ve done just that.

Erin has a real gift for talking about things in a very accessible way. Even though I have a masters and a good foundation of this stuff, FNA has a way of breaking it down and then weaving it all together to provide this clear understanding of the complex interplay between body systems.

One of the greatest benefits for me thus far is that I’ve been able to learn how to more effectively apply this knowledge to help my clients.

Whether we’re dealing with Celiac, or gluten sensitivity, or Hashimoto’s, or any other kind of autoimmune issue, it’s often not a clear cut path, so we partner with our clients to help them figure out what they need to do to heal. FNA gives us all this information that we’re able to access to help them figure that out.

What would you say to someone who is on the fence about joining FNA?

Jump in. I have learned so much (I think I’m in month 5 or 6) and I am already so thankful that I did this. Prior to FNA I had some experience with functional testing, but not to the extent that I do now. I’ve learned so much from all the different aspects of the program. The case studies FNA offers are my favorite; I love the 1:1 lab review sessions—I learn so much each and every time.

Also the business modules. I’m a business owner. I identify myself more as a clinical nutritionist than a business owner, but I own my own business, so I HAVE to learn how to run a business. For far too long I’ve been very uncomfortable with the marketing aspect of owning my own business, but as you say, you have to get over it. If you want to grow your business, you have to dive in and do the social media, and do the content writing, and all of that.

You’ve helped to pull me out of my comfort zone, and even though I’m not super comfortable doing it, I feel like I have the guidance now to know that I’m on the path to be able to help more people and reach more people, and that feels really good.

Best investment I’ve ever made.

There are a lot of modules that are jam packed with good info, but the modules aren't ridiculously long which is nice. It's exactly what I wanted—a program that was this in-depth.

This is exactly what I was looking for and I so appreciate that Erin explains things on every level and provides her insights and experiences throughout the videos.

I love how comprehensive [FNA] is. This is exactly what I was looking for and I so appreciate that Erin explains things on every level and provides her insights and experiences throughout the videos. I like the flow and the design of the program and truly love how in-depth it is.

I've been very happy with the program and have gained such a better understanding of how everything works together! [Erin’s] teaching style is amazing and I love the content. I also really enjoyed the live case studies. [Erin] is very insightful and I was very impressed. I will be sad when the program is over :)
